Pacers Update – April

The Indiana Pacers have been one of the best teams in the National Basketball Association for most of the 2013-14 season, but March was not a kind month to this club. The Pacers struggled for parts of the month, ultimately losing 10 of their 18 games in March. Indiana is engrossed in a battle for the top spot in the Eastern Conference standings, a distinction that could make of world of different if the team is able to reach the Conference Finals again this season. The Pacers have not had any injuries to blame their swoon on, and word is that they've been conscious of their problems and are simply having a hard time fixing them. This is likely the worst time of the year to be undergoing a period like this one, and the team only has a handful of regular season games in the month of April before the playoffs roll around.

The Pacers did get a big win against the Miami Heat on March 26 in what was a defensive battle. Indiana came back in the fourth quarter to secure a one-point victory in this contest. Paul George had a big game for the Pacers, notching 23 points and eight boards. George started the season looking like one of the five best players in the entire league, and though he has slowed down a bit and had the kind of bumps in the road that one would expect from a young player, he still has helped taken this Pacers team to the next level thanks to his presence as a go-to offensive options as well as a lockdown defender on the other side of the court. The Pacers know that they're going to have to go through the Miami Heat to get to the NBA Finals this season, so a victory like this one is a good confidence boost for a team that may be lacking in that area a bit recently.

Pacers Update – March

The Indiana Pacers maintained their hold on the best record in the Eastern Conference throughout the month of February thanks to a 9-3 record for the month. The Pacers look like a real contender for the NBA Championship, and they continue to prove that they're capable of defeating quality teams. On February 7th the Pacers were able to take down the Portland Trail Blazers in overtime. The Trail Blazers are having an unexpectedly strong season in the competitive Western Conference thanks to the stellar play of both LaMarcus Aldridge and Damian Lillard. Lillard was the one who shined in this contest, dropping a whopping 38 points and 11 assists. Aldridge chipped in 22 points of his own, but did not have the most efficient shooting night (9 of 24). George Hill exploded for Indiana, though, posting his best performance of the season, perhaps in his career. Hill dropped 37 points, nine rebounds and eight assists in the game, and David West added 30 points and 10 rebounds of his own.

Three days later the Pacers were able to defeat the Denver Nuggets. The Nuggets have not been the same team as they were last season, and Indiana exploited their weaknesses in this game. West had an efficient shooting game, hitting 11 of his 13 shots from the field for 25 points. Each Pacers starter scored in double figures, as the team continued to show that they're a well-rounded group of players. Paul George experienced a bit if a slump through most of February, but the team rallied around him. This Pacers squad looks like a real threat to dethroning the reigning three-time Eastern Conference champion Miami Heat, but they'll need George to play like the superstar that he is capable of being. The Pacers will look to hold on to their lead in the Eastern Conference ranks in March.

The Indiana Pacers - Schedule in 2013-14

The Indiana Pacers are ready to set the pace this season as they set their sights on the top spot in the Eastern Conference. The Pacers have one of the best teams in the East, and are looking to prove it throughout the season by dominating any opponent that dares step onto the court at Banker's Life Fieldhouse. The Pacers were able to earn the third seed in the third seed in the Eastern Conference playoffs last season by finishing atop the Central Division standings, and saw forward Paul George blossom into a star player during the postseason. The team will look for George to continue his development in 2013-14, as it would give this well-rounded team the star they need to compete for an NBA Championship. The Pacers have their sights set high this season, as they should, but the team is going to have to take down some of the top teams in the league at home this season. It should be a great season to be a Pacers fan, and Indiana is sure to see some great turnouts in the stands at Banker's Life Fieldhouse, especially for the biggest of matchups in 2013-14.

Some of the biggest matchups of the Indiana Pacers season in 2013-14 will come when the Miami Heat visit Indiana. The Heat were able to take down the Pacers in the Eastern Conference Finals last season, but not without a formidable fight from the scrappy Indiana team. However, with Paul George assuming a larger role for the Pacers this could be the year that Indiana gets the best of the reigning NBA Champions. Every game between the Heat and Pacers at Banker's Life Fieldhouse is sure to be an incredible spectacle to attend in person, and the stands will be packed to the brim with dedicated NBA fans. The matchups between George and Heat star LeBron James could be one of the better one-on-one situations you'll see in the entire league this season. James is considered by most people in NBA circles to be the best basketball players on the planet, but George appears to be gaining on him as one of the few players long and athletic enough to play solid defense on one of the best players to every suit up.

Other big games that will certainly be circled on the Indiana Pacers' calendar this season are matchups with the Chicago Bulls. The Bulls look to be the biggest threat to the Pacers chances at another Central Division crown. Chicago lost star point guard Derrick Rose to injury yet again this season, but they've still got some tough players and one of the best coaches in the league. No game against the Bulls is ever an easy one thanks to their hard-nosed mindset and defensive schemes. The Pacers know not to take any matchup with this team lightly, and this divisional rivalry will result in many people hitting the stands at the arena to be a part of the action. It should be a wonderful season to check out the Pacers in person as they shoot for the stars and the NBA Championship in 2013-14.

The Team

The Indiana Pacers are a professional basketball team that is a part of the National Basketball Association. As a member of the Eastern Conference's Central Division, the Pacers are often matched up with division rivals like the Cleveland Cavaliers, Detroit Pistons, Chicago Bulls and Milwaukee Bucks. The Pacers have one of the best teams in the entire NBA and have their eyes on the NBA Championship this season. The Pacers will soar as high as forward Paul George can take them this season. George appears to have nearly unlimited potential on both ends of the floor, making him one of the most enticing young talents in the league. The Pacers are a hard-nosed team that refuses to back down from any opponent, and that's an attitude that could carry them to the top in 2013-14.

The Experience

The atmosphere at an NBA game is simply electric, as fans watch with anticipation throughout the entire contest. The National Basketball Association is the best basketball league in the world, and boasts players hailing from all over the globe. Seeing these players hit the court in person makes watching them on TV pale in comparison, and that's why you'll see the stands packed with fans at just about every NBA game throughout the season. Be a part of the excitement when you head to a Pacers contest this season.
