Indiana Hoosiers Trivia
Did you that Isiah
Thomas didn't go number one overall in the 1981 NBA Draft?
Though Thomas ended up proving that he was far and away the
best NBA player in the draft that year, after coming out of Indiana as a champion and a bit of a legend, it was Mark Aguirre
that the Dallas Mavericks selected with the first overall pick in the draft. Oddly enough, Aguirre would eventually team up
with Isiah Thomas in the late 1980s, helping the Pistons (along with Isiah, obviously) to back-to-back titles in 1989 and
1990. But even though Aguirre ended up with a very solid NBA career, it was Isiah Thomas who would go on to 12 different All-Star
games and eventually go down as the greatest point guards in NBA history.
