Ingalls Rink History

Opened back in the late-1950s, Ingalls Rink didn't exactly take long to become an icon of the local sports team, though much of that has to do with the always ultra-competitive Yale Bulldogs hockey team. Ingalls Rink Events/Teams

When the Bulldogs are locked in a heated battle with a top-tier opponent, there is nothing close to the feeling of being in the stands with your fellow fans, though that's not something you're going to learn sitting on your couch. Come out and see all the action the way it was meant to be seen as the Bulldogs look to dominate their Ivy League opponents and make a big move up the conference standings.

But while the men's team often gets much of the press, there's also plenty of excitement about the women's team as well, and that's because they always have an explosive roster loaded with some of the best players in the game. New Haven, Connecticut

If you've never been to New Haven, well, it's probably time to change that. Though it sometimes gets a bad rep for its amazing winters that might make you think the teams down here are soft, that's probably because you've never seen the Bulldogs in action. These are some of the most explosive athletes in college hockey from season to season and the fans are known for being a passionate bunch, making their home games something to behold whenever the Bulldogs are in town. The rich sports scene is about as good as it gets if you love college football over at the Yale Bowl or college hockey at Ingallas, as Yale can do a lot more than dominant in the classroom.

When it's only pride and school spirit on the line, the whole game is taken to a completely different level, making it always a good idea to come out and see what all the buzz is about around New Haven. Once you make it to New Haven getting ready for a big-time college hockey matchup, you'll be kicking yourself for not checking it out sooner.

Ingalls Rink Seating Layout

Whether you're on the right, left or somewhere in the center, you're bound to get a great show if you make it out to Ingalls Rink for a highly anticipated matchup. No, we're not talking about governmental impasses and political theater; we're talking about the elegant seating arrangement of the Ingalls Rink. There isn't a bad seat in the house, which is something that you really won't understand until you actually make it out to see it for yourself. Once you're there watching one of your sports teams, the last thing you'll be thinking about is your seat, however, as you'll be jumping out of it all too often from one play to the next as a great team brings the house down.

Ingalls Rink Trivia

Did you know that Ingalls Rink is also known as the Yale Whale?

And a whale of a tale it tends to be whenever the Bulldogs take to the ice, as these stars in the making know a thing or two about lighting up the scoreboard and putting on a show for the local hockey fans. There is nothing quite like the experience of live college athletics, but that's not something that you're going to figure out sitting at home watching on that disappointing little flatscreen TV and listening to the sportscaster tell you what the atmosphere is like. Ingalls Rink has become a major player on the local sports scene for a reason, and each game brings plenty of hope and optimism in addition to some very good college hockey.
