Cole began rapping as a teenager in North Carolina and moved to New York City with the dream of getting his mixtape heard and scoring a record contract. Initially shunned by Jay Z, it was after his second mixtape was released that Hova noticed the young rapper and not only signed him to Roc Nation, but asked him to appear on "A Star Is Born" off of The Blueprint 3. From there, it was off to the races and J. Cole has branched out on his own, building out his fan base and giving providing some amazing thrills from show to show.
