Jackie Greene will be taking part in the Shaky Knees Music Festival
at Atlantic Station in Atlanta, Georgia on May 11th where he will share the stage with the likes of the Alabama Shakes, the
Violent Femmes, Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeroes, Local Natives, and more. His first solo show on his tour will be on
May 31st at Lincoln Hall in Chicago before heading off to New York, Boston, Washington D.C., Cincinnati, and Kansas City in
June. His tour will conclude in Englewood, Colorado at Gothic Theatre on June 20th. Jackie Greene will also perform as part
of the Phases of the Moon Festival at Kennekunk County Park in Danville, Illinois, which is a four day festival taking place
from September 11th through the 14th and will also feature Widespread Panic, Gov't Mule, Leon Russel, and more.
Jackie Greene was born Chris Nelson in Salinas, California in 1980 and it did not take long before he
first found his musical calling and began taking piano lessons. By the time he was 14, Jackie Greene had begun playing guitar
and became so skilled at it that he was soon able to sit in with local bands at nearby venues. As a teenager he wrote and
recorded his own songs in his garage which he had turned into a home studio and released his first album, Rusty Nails. Later,
in 2002, Jackie Greene release his follow up album, Gone Wanderin' on DIG Records and began to gain a considerable following.
He has toured with Gov't Mule, Mark Knopfler, B.B. King, Los Lobos, Huey Lewis, Taj Mahal, and many more while also appearing
at big time festivals like South by Southwest, Bonnaroo, Grateful Garcia Gathering, Newport Jazz Festival, and more. He has
released seven studio albums to date: Gone Wanderin', Rusty Nails, Sweet Somewhere Bound, American Myth, Giving Up the Ghost,
Small Tempest, and Til the Light Comes. Jackie Greene was asked by the Black Crowes to join their band in 2012 and has been
a member of the band since 2013.
Jackie Greene released his second album Gone Wanderin' in
2002 and went on to win to win the California Music Award for Best Blues/Roots Album in 2003. The album went on to stay on
the Americana music charts for more than a year which led to great success with his third album, Sweet Somewhere Bound which
scored a major radio hit with the song "Honey I Been Thinking About You."
