Jacksonville Jaguars Schedule

The Jacksonville Jaguars are on the prowl for big victories this season as they set out to play against all of the best teams in the AFC South and the rest of the National Football League. The Jags got off to a slow start last season, as the team struggled out of the gate. However, the team came around as the season has progressed, finding some offensive consistency despite not having the most talented offense in the league. The Jags were on the losing end of their first eight contests in 2013, but proceeded to win four of their next five games, showing that this team has a lot of fight in them. Jacksonville is looking to get off to a much better start this time around, and they could be one of the surprise teams of the 2014 NFL season. The Jags have some good games coming their way at EverBank Field this season, and fans will flock to the stadium in order to see how much this team can improve this year.

The Jags will host the Indianapolis Colts this season on September 21st for what should be a huge game. The Colts won the AFC South in 2013, and are looking to do so yet again in 2014. It's never easy to take down quarterback Andrew Luck, but other defenses have shown that it is possible. The Jags will look for their pass rush to pressure this young signal caller, but Luck has a way of eluding defenders and finding the open man. If the Jaguars can take down the Colts on the road this season, it could be exactly what this team needs to become a contender.

Jacksonville has another tough matchup coming their way on November 30th when the New York Giants come to Florida. The Giants also got off to a slow start last season, but they looked good in the second half of the year. With quarterback Eli Manning running the show, the New York passing game is always difficult to contain, and a lot of the pressure in this game is going to fall on the Jacksonville defense. Head coach Gus Bradley is known for the amazing defense he helped put together in Seattle, and he's likely trying to do the same thing with the Jags. Jacksonville has a mean front seven that may be able to pressure the youngest Manning brother into making some costly mistakes. There are plenty of other fantastic matchups on the Jacksonville schedule this season, so make sure to see the best games in person at EverBank Field.

Jacksonville Jaguars Team Info

The Jacksonville Jaguars stumbled out of the gate in 2013 when they lost their first eight games to start the year. But the team was able to turn it around on November 10th, and proceeded to win four of their next five contests. This team showed a lot of grit since that 0-8 start, which bodes well heading into this season. The Jags used the third pick in the 2014 NFL Draft to draft a new quarterback in Blake Bortles. Bortles may not be ready to start right away, but the team still has veteran Chad Henne ready to keep the seat warm for him. Jacksonville made a big move in free agency by handing out a hefty contract to running back Toby Gerhart, who was a star at Stanford in college before moving on to the pros to back up in Adrian Peterson in Minnesota. Now this hard-running back has the chance to be a featured player in a young offense, and the Jags are looking for him to rip off big chunks of yardage on the ground while also contributing in the passing game. Tight end Marcedes Lewis is always an offensive threat and he will be assisted by the two wideouts the Jaguars selected in the second round, Marqise Lee and Allen Robinson. Defensively, the Jaguars will run a base 4-3 defense that should be improved and will be facing some potent offenses throughout the season. Big things are in store for the Jacksonville Jaguars this season and you will want to be a part of it from the opening kickoff.

Fan Experience

There are few sporting events that can hold a candle to the atmosphere that you'll experience in the crowd when two National Football League teams take the field, as NFL games are routinely packed with passion and energy you can't find anywhere but the stands. The NFL is one of the top sports leagues in the world, boasting some of the most impressive athletes you're ever going to come across. The best way to truly appreciate what these athletes are capable of is to catch a game in person. The Jags will be hitting the field in eight stadiums other than their own this regular season, and each contest provides Jacksonville football fans with the chance to see how their favorite team holds up under the pressure that comes along with playing away from home against a quality NFL team. Be a part of all of the action this season when you head to a Jacksonville Jaguars road game.

Jacksonville Jaguars History

The Jacksonville Jaguars joined the NFL in 1995 and have made the playoffs six times and won their division twice. The Jags have a ring of honor at EverBank Field designated for people important to the franchise. The ring was named Pride of the Jaguars in a 2006 contest and the first inductee was Tony Boselli a former left tackle. Former owners Wayne and Delores Weaver, running back Fred Taylor, and quarterback Mark Brunell have also been given spots in the Pride of the Jaguars.

Jacksonville Jaguars Trivia

Where did Jacksonville Jaguars quarterback Blake Bortles play his college ball?

The answer is the University of Central Florida. Bortles was a standout in college, but did not gain the kind of national recognition that he may have had he played for a more prominent program. However, the Jags still thought him worthy of being selected with the third overall pick in the 2014 NFL Draft.
