Jaheim Background

Jaheim, born Jaheim Hoagland in New Brunswick, New Jersey, grew up with numerous musical influences. His grandfather sang in several musical groups, such as The Drifters, and always encouraged young Jaheim to sing and follow his creative dreams. Every family reunion turned into a performance, with Jaheim and his other musically talented relatives always eager to put on a show.

When he was young, Jaheim experienced numerous tragedies, including the death of both of his parents. By the age of sixteen, Jaheim was an orphan, and as the oldest in the household, he was left to care for his two brothers. He also spent a short period in prison before achieving success for his music, but the traumas of his childhood stayed with him for a while. He turned to music for comfort and to help him grieve. His dedication to music and to his career led to a deal with Divine Mill Records, a division of Warner Bros. Records. Two singles from his first released tape lead to some great reactions, as "Could It Be" and "Lil' Nigga Ain't Mine" appeared on BET video shows and earned him numerous new fans. His first two studio albums, Ghetto Love (2001) and Still Ghetto (2002) both reached RIAA platinum status. His entrance into the R&B hip hop scene was more like an explosion, as he amassed fans and accolades with each new song and each new performance.

The talented R&B singer is one of the most admired artists in the genre, with his smooth and sonorous tone and his heartfelt lyrics. As an artist who puts his soul on the line every time he writes a song, Jaheim has always been able to connect with his fans on a deep level through his music. Don't miss out on seeing this talented artist exhibit his variety of creative capabilities as he heads out on the road to perform more shows. Make sure you grab your tickets on StubHub to enjoy a night filled with the soul-originated beats of Jaheim.

He turned to music, however, to find solace and comfort.
