James Madison Dukes Schedule in 2014

College football is on the horizon and James Madison Duke's fans can't wait another day for their beloved team to take the field once more. The Dukes finished the 2013 season with a 6-6 record, but new hope and optimism awaits the team this season with first year coach Everett Withers at the helm. For the first time in 16 years, the Dukes will be led by someone other than Mickey Matthews and the Dukes are ready for the challenge. When Coach Withers and company kick off the 2014 season, they will be up against some stiff competition and their fans won't want to miss a single game.

The season starts off on August 30 with a bang when the Dukes head to Byrd Stadium in College Park, Maryland to take on the might Maryland Terps of the Big 10 Conference. The Dukes will need all the fan support they can get in College Park because Byrd Stadium is one of the most intense home fields in the country. Get your tickets to this exciting matchup today only at StubHub.

Another can't-miss game for the Dukes this season is the October 11 clash at Bridgeforth Stadium in Harrisonburg, Virginia with the Towson Tigers. The Tigers finished the 2013 season with a 13-3 record, losing to South Dakota State in the FCS National Championship Game in January. To be the best, you have to beat the best, and the Dukes know that they must go through Towson if they want to get anywhere in 2014.

James Madison Dukes Football Experience

Bridgeforth Stadium, home of the James Madison Dukes, was originally built in 1975 when the Dukes played their first football games. Over the years, Bridgeforth Stadium has been expanded many times, going from 5,000 to over 24,000 seats for Dukes' fans. On Saturdays in Harrisonburg, Dukes fans descend on Bridgeforth Stadium by the thousands, clad in purple and gold and tailgating with the rest of JMU Nation. Dukes fans are passionate about their team and game day is always an incredible atmosphere.

James Madison Dukes Football Team

For the last 15 years, the James Madison Dukes have been led by Head Coach Mickey Matthews, who has helped shape the Dukes from a new program to a very successful one. As the Dukes move on with new Head Coach Everett Withers, the Dukes look forward to a new era in their program's history. There is plenty of talent on the Dukes roster and players to keep your eye on, including redshirt senior running back Dea'Quan Scott, who is in the Top 10 in rushing in program history. The Dukes are poised for a big year from transfer quarterback Vad Lee, who comes to Harrisonburg from Georgia Tech, where he had a nice season in 2013 with 11 passing touchdowns and 8 rushing touchdowns. Lee followed Coach Withers to JMU and is looking forward to leading the Dukes to the top of the table in 2014.
