About Jason Mraz
Hailing from Mechanicsville, Virginia, Jason got his musical
start while attending the American Musical and Dramatic Academy in the world's culture capital of New York City. After graduating
he would embark on a traditional nine to five lifestyle, before wanderlust pushed him onto a road trip that would eventually
lead him to San Diego, California. Jason would become absorbed into the local music scene, becoming a regular in the beach
city of Ocean Beach, building up a retinue of musical connections and honing his performance talents.
talent wouldn't go unnoticed for long, and he soon picked up a contract with Elektra Records that would lead to the release
of his debut album and the meteoric start of his mainstream career. He would soon embark on tours at the hottest locals across
the globe, from NYC to London, with the support of the concert musicians that had helped Jason get his start in Ocean Beach
so many years before.
The mid 2000s would see no end to Jason's success, with Grammy nominations galore and tour collaborations
with some of the biggest names in music - including Bushwalla, Alanis Morissette, Rob Thomas, and the Rolling Stones. Jason's
appeal would transcend traditional audiences, with his performance spilling into Asia including a stint at the massive Mosaic
Music Festival in Singapore. His work would be featured across multiple mediums, including a Gap advert, ABC's Ugly Betty
and on the TV series megahit American Idol.
After various nominations and near misses, a new decade would bring Mraz's
