About the Artist
Jason Mraz grew up in Mechanicsville, Virginia
and attended The American Musical and Dramatic Academy in New York. It was not until he relocated to San Diego and finally
started making a name for himself in the local coffee house scene that he started on his path to fame. His first recording
Live at Java Joe's was recorded at a coffee house in Ocean Beach, a community in San Diego. Soon after he started receiving
attention from record labels trying to sign him. The following year Mraz signed with Elektra Records and recorded his first
album with the Dave Matthews Band and Agents of Good Root. The album, Waiting for My Rocket to Come, was a success based on
the single The Remedy (I Won't Worry) which was written by the production team The Matrix. He has since released three other
albums: Mr. A-Z, We Sing. We Dance. We Steal Things., and Love Is A Four Letter Word. Jason Mraz has collaborated with some
of the best singers and artists in the world including Alannis Morissette, Michelle Williams, Michelle Branch, Brandon Boyd,
Tristan Prettyman, Keith Urban, Joss Stone, and others. He has won two Grammy Awards, both in 2010, and continues to record
and tour regularly.
Jason Mraz had some success in the United States following the release
of his major label debut Waiting for My Rocket to Come, but international success did not come quite so quickly. It was not
until the release of We Sing. We Dance. We Steal Things. and its lead single I'm Yours, that Jason Mraz achieved similar success
It is not often that a real international superstar comes to town and when that
opportunity arises, you would be well advised to jump at it. This is precisely the case with Jason Mraz. Maybe you have just
heard of this talented singer-songwriter or perhaps you have been waiting for months if not years for this night to come and
finally as the lights lower you begin to see Jason Mraz taking the stage. The audience roars with applause as Jason Mraz approaches
the mic. A hush falls over the crowd as Jason Mraz thanks them and launches into a fan favorite from Waiting For My Rocket
to Come, Mr. A-Z, We Sing. We Dance. We Steal Things., or Love Is A Four Letter Word. Maybe he even does some of the freestyle
scatting he is so well known for in the breakdown of one of his hit songs. The crowd once again erupts and sings and dances
along to hits throughout the night. This is your chance to see a true international superstar and favorite of the genre, and
Jason Mraz definitely exceeds expectations. Jason Mraz has an ability to connect with the audience and enthrall with his that
is not always found in modern pop music. Do not miss the chance to see Jason Mraz when he hits your town.
Mraz comes from Czech descent and his last name means frost in Czech. For a while Jason Mraz was engaged to singer/songwriter
Tristan Prettyman but the engagement was called off in 2011.
