Jayhawks date back to 1985, when Mark Olson, Gary Louris, Marc Perlman, and Norm Rogers got together to form a band in Minneapolis.
They released their first eponymous album under the small independent label, Bunhouse Records, in 1986. Their debut into the
music world reflected their country rock and roots influences, and the group spent the next several years touring heavily
and working on new music.
Their first major label release came in 1992 when they released Hollywood Town Hall on the
Def American label. This was their first album to significantly reflect a folksy influence, rather than their strictly country
rock sound found in their earlier works. The Jayhawks quickly became a local favorite in Minnesota, and their popularity started
to spread outward with every new show that they played. They had a few fantastic radio hits, such as "Waiting for the Sun",
"Settled Down Like Rain", and "Take Me With You (When You Go)", and with all of this radio play, the Jayhawks started to build
more and more momentum.
Throughout the years, the Jayhawks have been a favorite amongst not just country rock fans,
but music lovers of all genres. While the band has undergone many lineup changes since beginning, each new lineup has given
their music a new and unique sound, making their repertoire of fantastic songs much more eclectic and intriguing than those
of most other bands. The Jayhawks' current lineup consists of Gary Louris, Marc Perlman, Karen Grotberg, Tom O'Reagan, and
Kraig Johnson, and all five of these incredibly talented musicians are ready to put on the performance of a lifetime at their
