Most kids learn to swim when they are still young children - but if you're last name is Cousteau, the experience is a little
more intense. Jean Michel Cousteau is the son of Jacques Cousteau, the famous undersea explorer and environmentalist. Jean
takes after his father in many ways, and is bringing his unique vision of the world under the waves to audiences with a speaking tour.
At the age of seven, Jean Michel Cousteau was thrown overboard with a new breathing apparatus strapped to his back. What
was then called an aqualung evolved into the modern SCUBA tank. Since those formative years spent at play in the ocean, Cousteau
has gone on to bring a message of conservation to the world. Hear him speak about the need to preserve our blue world, and
about the new threats that our environment faces.
The Cousteaus have largely become famous through the television and movie screen. The elder Cosuteau, of course, is famous
for his Undersea World of Jacques Cousteau program, which introduced the world to all sorts of marine life. Jean Michel Cousteau
has kept his father's passions alive by filming dozens of documentaries about the watery world, and will be bringing the depths
of his knowledge to the stage for a speaking tour.
