Born in London, Jeanette Dimech grew up in Spain. She taught herself guitar in the early 1960s. In 1971, Jeanette returned to Barcelona to pursue her career as a singer, largely in part due to a request by record label Hispavox. She released her first solo album that year entitled "Soy rebelde/elo apá, oye mamá". In 1988, she released "Corazón de Poeta" on RCA Records.
