Growing up in Alaska, Jewel's music career got off to an early start. At the age of six, she started performing with her
singer/songwriter parents. After her parents divorced, she continued to nurture her musical abilities by touring with her
father, who taught her how to yodel. At 15, her solo act earned her a vocal scholarship to Interlochen, a private arts school
in Michigan. She began penning songs and playing guitar. Later on, Jewel moved to live with her mother in San Diego and played
in area coffee shops. Her impressive vocal range and poetic words led her to a regular gig at the Innerchange in Pacific Beach
where she was discovered by people in the music business. She inked a deal with Atlantic Records in 1994 and was soon on her
way to fame.
Jewel once lived in her van to make ends meet while she was working on her music career. But before she knew it, she had
her own tour bus. It wasn't until 1996 that Jewel's debut album, Pieces of You, soared in popularity. In the meanwhile, she
toured tirelessly to promote her music, opening for renowned artists Neil Young and Bob Dylan. Her exhaustive efforts paid
off when her single, Who Will Save Your Soul, ranked at No. 11 on Billboard's Top 100 chart. The album went on to sell around
11 million copies. To hear her perform her hit songs live, reserve your tickets through StubHub today! Don't miss out!
Jewel's sophomore album, Spirit, came out in 1998, and spotlighted her talents as a folk music performance artist. This
album included Standing Still and Hands. That same year, Jewel originated another best-seller but in a different genre. A
Night Without Armor, a collection of her poetry, was published. In 2001, Jewel's style started show show hints of change.
The album, This Way, reflected a lighter, more pop-based sound. And in 2003, Jewel made the foray into dance music with her
0304 album. The song, Intuition, took the No. 2 spot on the Billboard 200 albums chart. Not only did Jewel reinvent her sound,
she also became edgier in looks and style. Jewel returned to her folk roots in 2006 with Goodbye Alice in Wonderland, and
made another musical transformation in 2007 when she began working on her premiere country album. Perfectly Clear hit the
shelves of retailers in 2008 and debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard Country Album Chart. From folk to country to pop songs,
Jewel's vocal range is astonishing. To experience her songs live and to find out more about Jewel's tour dates, make sure
