Born in 1966 Mississippi and growing up in Mobile, Alabama, Jimmy Buffet didn't start to pursue a career in music
until the late 60's, releasing a debut album in 1970 "Down To Earth" that didn't exactly fall in line with the laid back beach
vibe he came to be known for. Making money performing on the street for a time in the early 70's, Buffet went on to record
albums like "White Sport Coat and a Pink Curstacean" and "Living and Dying in 3/4 Time" that were improvements, but still
failed to capture the kind of magic that people were looking for. But he finally found what he had been looking for in 1977
when his album "Changes in Latitudes, Changes in Attitudes" hit the scene and brought to light the beach bum personality that
we all know and love. He continued on releasing albums that followed in this style, growing a massive legion of fans known
as "parrotheads" that dilligently follow Jimmy Buffet and his endearing style.
exactly making it big in the beginning, Jimmy Buffet took some time to get his career off the ground, but in the end his music
went so many more places than he had ever dreamed. After a debut album that was more in the vibe of a country music sound,
Jimmy Buffet began to gain a bit of notoriety for his music that at times were a bit risque, later finally getting a song
into the charts with the song "Come Monday" that focused on relationship separation. So while he had been making music for
about five years and had released a slew of albums, it wasn't until 1977 with the release of "Margaritaville" on the album
"Changes in Latitudes, Changes in Attitudes" that he found the laid back tropical feel and persona that carried him to fame.
Margaritaville was a hit along with the accompanying album, turning him into a star for years to come.
While Jimmy Buffet is an iconic musician with his signature style of music and laid back atmosphere at
all of his shows, he actually started out as a country musician before he found his mark in the genre of music he came to
call "gulf and western". In the late 1960's Jimmy had moved to Nashville in pursuit of getting a career in country music off
the ground, and after his debut album "Down To Earth" he decided to move to Key West, Florida. It was here that he gradually
came into transitioning into the beach bum style persona and sound of music that he carries on to this day. It was a smart
career move, and one that has drawn in crowds of people from all over to join in on his feeling and style of music.
No matter where or how you end up listening to Jimmy Buffet's music, you end up getting a nice
laid back feeling and can almost feel the tropical breeze going through as you hear his stories and songs of all kinds. And
while this is great, nothing can truly compare to seeing Jimmy Buffet live when he makes it out to a venue near you! Because
while listening to songs at home or on the go is great, there's a whole atmosphere and ambiance that you get with seeing Jimmy
live that simply doesn't translate over to any of his recorded material. So join in on the fun and get your tickets from StubHub
so that you can be in the audience at his next show and let the tropical feel take over! There's no show quite like a Jimmy
Buffet show, so be sure to grab your tickets today!
