Jjamz (styled JJAMZ and pronounced juh-jamz)[1] is an American indie-pop band from Los Angeles, California that formed during a karaoke night at Guys in West Hollywood. The band is composed of James Valentine (Maroon 5), Jason Boesel (Rilo Kiley/Bright Eyes), Alex Greenwald (Phantom Planet), Michael Runion, and Z Berg (The Like), and "Jjamz" is an acronym using the first letter of each member's name. The group came together as a means of escape from each member's respective bands at a time when things seemed hectic for each member.
