Jo Dee Messina was born August 25, 1970 in Holliston, Massachusetts. Messina was running her own band at sixteen, running the soundboard from the stage. She moved to Nashville in hope to make it big like any other country music hopeful but got cut from her first label due to different management. Buddy Tim McGraw was making it big with Curb Records and they decided to sign her on. Messina's album I'm Alright made it to double platinum in 1999 and in 2005 her single "My give a damn's busted" made it to number one.
