About Jo Dee Messina

Country star Jo Dee Messina spent her formative years in Holliston, Massachusetts, where she developed an interest in music at a young age. With influences from Patsy Cline, The Judds, and Reba McEntire, Jo Dee Messina started playing in local clubs by the time she was 16 years old. Shortly after graduating from high school, Messina moved to Nashville, Tennessee. While honing her music talents and entering various contests around Nashville, Messina worked odd jobs to get by. She finally got a spot on a radio show called Live at Libby's, which happened to catch the interest of a producer, Byron Gallimore. She was soon signed to a record label and was ready to embark on her musical career.

In 1998, Messina returned to the studio and released her next album, "I'm Alright." The album's singles "Bye, Bye," "I'm Alright," and "Stand Beside Me" all made it to the number one position, and her other single "Lesson in Leavin" hit the number 2 position for several weeks. 2000 saw the release of her third album, "Burn," which had a noticeably more pop-oriented sound. The single "That's the Way" topped the Billboard Country Chart, and the album also spawned the successful hits, "Downtime" and "Burn." Jo Dee Messina also enjoyed a successful collaboration with Tim McGraw, "Bring On the Rain," which peaked at number 1 on the US Hot Country Songs chart, and number 6 on the Adult Contemporary Chart.

Messina continued to record and tour during the years to come, and she released her first holiday album, "A Joyful Noise," in 2002. The song's title track hit number 16 on the Adult Contemporary Chart, proving that Messina could succeed in nearly any capacity as a musician. Her 2005 album "Delicious Surprise" was also a smash hit, peaking at number 1 on the Billboard Top Country Albums and number 9 on the Billboard 200. With over 500,000 copies sold, the album was certified gold, and the single "My Give a Damn's Busted" hit number 1 on the Billboard Country Chart. As this prolific country musician kicks off another concert tour, you don't want to miss her incredible show.
