About Joe Nichols
from Rogers, Arkansas, Joe would be the second born into a family that had a streak for musical talent. Taking after his bass
playing father, Joe soon jumped head first into local music scenes before starting to work as a disc jockey, laying the foundation
for his future as a professional musician. He would soon be spotted by producer Randy Edwards, whose musical mentorship of
the young Joe Nichols would eventually lead to his first label signing with Intersound Records in 1995 - at the age of 19.
debut into the music world would fare well, with a hit single that would start to build up hype for young Joe. He would move
to Giant Records and continue recording, but a lack of tangible momentum would see him slow down with his music career as
he focused on other parts of his life. Eventually he would partner with Brent Rowan, and the two would secure another recording
deal for Nichols that would be the real ignition for Joe's meteoric rise to country fame. By the mid 2000s, Joe had become
a household name on the country airwaves with a Horizon Award from the Country Music Association, three Grammy Award nominations,
a Top New Male Vocalist Award, and dozens of albums and singles all over Billboard.
Not slowing down, Joe hit the road
with friend and fellow musician Alan Jackson, keeping up a hectic tour schedule while constantly making time for songwriting
and recording time in the studio. Nichols became a top notch celebrity within the country music scene, bumping shoulders with
greats like Toby Keith and enchanting other well knowns such as Anna Nicole Smith.
By 2012, Joe would break away from
the newly formed Show Dog-Universal label and sign with Broken Bow, where he has been pushing the country genre in a Nichols
direction ever since. With multiple number one singles and a presence all over the country performing and recording world,
the country scene is always on the edge of its seat, waiting for the newest piece of Joe Nichols genius to grace the ears
and airwaves across the country.
Joe Nichols' big breakout would come with Man with a Memory,
the 2002 release that hit the #9 and #72 position on the US Country and Top 200 charts, respectively. The album is seen as
Joe's true debut album, and raked in a tidy platinum certification that makes it his best selling album to date. The album
spawned four hit singles, including "The Impossible", "Cool to Be a Fool", "Brokenheartsville", and "She Only Smokes When
Joe's most recent release, 2013's Crickets, was produced by the visionaries Mickey Jack Cones, Derek George,
and Tony Brown and would be a huge commercial and critical success. The album cemented Joe as a decade spanning performer,
and the album would hit the #3 and #4 positions on the US Country and US Indie charts. Featuring the singles "Sunny and 75",
"Yeah", and "Hard to Be Cool", Crickets is an undisputed hit and another testament to Joe's unbeatable talent as a musician.
Joe has struggled with inner demons, suffering from amphetamine and alcohol addiction after a tumultuous
personal struggle stemming from the loss of his father. He would check into rehab to overcome his addiction, and is now a
happy father of three.
