John Newman Tour Schedule
In a world where so many young pop singers seem entirely disposable and come and go with
the wind it is refreshing to see a true talent devoted to his craft like John Newman rise to stardom. He has been working
for years since he was a teenager to get to where he is now and almost ten years of hard work he has finally arrived at the
top of the UK pop scene and appears ready to take over the rest of the world as well.
John Newman has several U.S. dates
lined up from coast to coast so there is no time like the present to see John Newman live. The tour kicks off January 6, 2014
at Brighton Music Hall in Boston Massachusetts followed by a January 9th date at the Bowery Ballroom in New York. Following
that, John Newman will make a stop at Varsity Theater in Minneapolis on January 11th while making his way to California for
a string of shows. Los Angeles residents will have two opportunities to see John Newman on January 15th with an early show
at the legendary Troubadour in West Hollywood followed by a later show at the El Rey. John will finish up his California trip
with a January 16th performance at Rickshaw Stop before heading out to Chicago for his final U.S. show at Lincoln Hall on
January 18th. Do not miss your chance to see this up and coming pop superstar while he is stateside.
John Newman hails from Settle, North Yorkshire in England and has been writing his own songs since he was 14
years old. He eventually learned how to record his own songs and began to DJ and produce his own house music. By the time
he was twenty John Newman packed up his guitar and musical equipment and moved to London to start a band. His band quickly
gained attention and soon was signed to Island Records. Before long he was releasing music online and eventually in October,
2013 released his full length debut Tribute which debuted at number one on the UK charts. The album featured three singles,
Love Me Again, Cheating, and Losing Sleep. After becoming a sensation in the UK, John Newman appears ready to break big in
the United States as he sets ut on tour in support of his debut album.
The big break for
John Newman first came in June 2012 when he was featured on Rudimental's single Feel the Love reached number one on the UK
charts. The single was also a top 5 hit in Australia, New Zealand, Netherlands, and Belgium. For a while the song became ubiquitous
and was featured oin the video game Need for Speed: Most Wanted, as well as in ads for The Pauly D Project and Foxtel Australia.
Newman was again featured on Rudimental's next single Not Giving In which was another big hit and was featured on the television
show Teen Wolf. All of this created quite a bit of international buzz around John Newman leading up to the release of his
debut album, helping it debut at number one in the UK.
You have been waiting for months
for this night to come and finally as the lights lower you begin to see the beloved John Newman making his way out onto the
stage. The crowd erupts in applause as pop sensation John Newman picks up his guitar and approaches the mic. A hush falls
over the crowd as he thanks them and launches into a fan favorite like Cheating, Losing Sleep, or Love Me Again. The crowd
once again erupts and sings and dances along to hits throughout the night. John Newman seems to have had performing in his
blood as he was a hit from the start and figured out ways to write, record, and produce his songs all on his own. This comes
across clearly when John Newman is on stage in the way that he works the crowd and never fails to get his fans in a frenzy.
John Newman claims that the second single from his debut album titled cheating was written at a time when
he was going through a bad break up and that the album as a whole represents a culmination of his life to this point. The
deeply personal lyrics as well as John's astonishing songwriting skills are astounding coming from such a young artist and
only serve as a representation of how gifted of an artist he really is. The song Cheating was actually written well before
the recording of his debut, and even before he was signed to Island Records. John originally released Cheating as a download
and now mostly plays acoustic versions of the song at his shows. The future is indeed bright for John Newman so don't miss
him while he's on tour.
