About John Pizzarelli

Pizzarelli was born in Paterson, New Jersey, and he is actually the son of guitarist Bucky Pizzarelli, who was also a jazz legend during his time. Pizzarelli has enjoyed quite a prolific career in music. He has worked as a singer, songwriter, guitarist, and bandleader, and has recorded almost 40 albums. In addition to his own work, Pizzarelli has recorded with many others, including Rosemary Clooney, George Shearing, Johnny Frigo, Buddy DeFranco, Paul McCartney, and the Cincinnati Pops Orchestra. In all, he has appeared on 140 albums to date.

During live shows, John Pizzarelli usually opts to perform with his own jazz quartet, which consists of Tony Tedesco on drums, Larry Fuller on piano, and his brother Martin Pizzarelli on double bass. During his career, Pizzarelli garnered critical acclaim for his album "Dear Mr. Cole," which features tracks like "Sweet Georgia Brown," "It's Only a Paper Moon," "September Song," and "On the Sunny Side of the Street." This album, which features covers of many Nat King Cole's songs, has become a favorite with both critics and fans alike.
