David Foster discovered Groban and took an interest in pushing Groban's career to the next level. "I was studying with a vocal

for the Governor of California's Inauguration." Soon, Foster was putting Groban to work. Groban found himself singing alongside
pop diva Celine Dion. He was also enlisted to stand in for Andrea Bocelli, music maestro, for the Grammy rehearsals in 1998.

John, Sarah Brightman and Lara Fabian. When he was just 20 years old, Ally McBeal writer David E. Kelly got a taste of Groban's
talent at the Gray Davis Inaugural Event. He was so taken with the singer that he penned a role especially for Groban. His
appearance on the popular TV show elevated his career and even boosted the show's ratings. His character was even brought
back for another episode. In 2001, Groban's eponymous album arrived, featuring mostly classic songs. By then, Groban was celebrated
as one of the most auspicious baritone singers on the music scene. He and equally-young Charlotte Church collaborated on The
Prayer, which garnered high praise for both of them. Later on, the Vatican invited Groban to perform at the Christmas concert.
2003, Groban issued Closer. It dropped at No. 11 on the Billboard Hot 200 chart and scored the No. 1 spot the week after.
