Josh Krajcik was born in Wooster, Ohio, and started taking piano lessons at an early age with one particular piano teacher who taught him basic music theory and how to read music. Another piano instructor educated him on how to play by ear. He moved onto guitar when he was in junior high. He was also a member of the choir during high school and is still a devoted supporter of the arts in education for the Triway Local Schools Music Boosters. After high school, Krajcik served as front man for various bands and projects.
Josh Krajcik convinced the owners of a bar that he was 22 when he was only 16 and then found his way to the stage of that bar to earn $100 for a four-hour gig. Over the next 14 years, he spearheaded a number of musical projects and eventually formed the Josh Krajcik Band. The three-piece blues and rock group has played a slew of venues in Ohio, including Cleveland, Cincinnati, Columbus, Bowling Green, Akron and Wooster, and more.
After performing his first gig at the age of 16, Josh Krajcik made the decision to dedicate his life to making music. Over the next 14 years, he made his mark by touring and being included in festivals. But by 2011 he was struggling to keep his music career afloat and was forced to take a restaurant job. On a whim, he auditioned for The X Factor USA - and soon was showcasing his gravely voice on the show's debut season. Today, Krajcik serves up a blend of soul, rock and roll and blues that resonates with audiences - chock full of raw emotion. In meticulously crafting his songs, Krajcik has mined inspiration from his most admired singers, including Ray Charles and Bill Withers, which shines through in his albums.
Josh Krajcik has toured with the likes of Brandi Carlile, Corinne Bailey Rae and The Fray.
