JQH Arena History
If you're expecting to see some top-tier basketball, you're definitely in the right spot, as
the JQH Arena is always absolutely filled to the brim with passionate fans that come out to support their Missouri State Bears.
College basketball is just one of those places that always seems to be in the middle of one great event or another, as the
home of the Bears and plenty of concerts from year to year as well. First opened in 2008, it hasn't taken very long for this
to become a major staple of the local entertainment scene around Springfield, with concerts from internationally known artists
like Carrie Underwood, The Eagles, Michael Buble, Elton John, Celtic Woman and Jason Aldean just to name a few of the legends
that have come to the stage.
JQH Arena Events
In addition to being the home of the basketball team for
Missouri State, it also houses a steady string of amazing concerts as well, making this simply the place to be if you're looking
for entertainment in the Springfield, Missouri area. One week you might see someone like Hunter Hays on the calendar, the
next week it could be Thomas Rhett and after that who knows, making it always a good idea to keep an eye on the calendar to
make sure that you don't miss a show that you know you want to be a part of. When one of your favorite musicians is taking
the show to the next level, or the Bears are locked in a nail-biter, you'll be glad that you're not sitting anywhere else.
JQH Arena Trivia
Did you know that The Eagles played the opening concert at JQH Arena?
Though it was clear
that this was a venue that was going to see its fair share of amazing basketball games, people were able to see loud and clear
that it wasn't exactly going to be lacking in amazing concert events either from the very beginning. The Eagles, known for
hit tracks like "Desperado" and "Hotel California," came to town and played in front of more than 10,000 fans, getting this
venue off to a great start with a riveting concert that remains one of the top events that has ever gone down at JQH Arena.
The College Basketball Experience
Since the 50s, Missouri State has had plenty of great teams come through their
program, which is why it's always a good idea to snag a few seats to see if they have what it takes to rise all the way up
the standings in the Missouri Valley Conference. There are plenty of major college sports out there these days, but few can
even hold a candle to the experiment of big-time NCAA basketball. Come out to the stands and you'll see what all the buzz
is about, as you'll be treated to an unbelievable sporting event filled with thousands of intense fans that know a thing or
two about showing their support. Some things don't transfer through that fancy TV, making it always a great idea to head out
to the stands so you can experience the game the way it was meant to be seen.
