Judith Marjorie Collins was born in Seattle, Washington, and was a child prodigy of classic piano. In her teens, she
picked up the guitar, and has yet to put it down. Since 1961 she has released over 20 folk albums, many of which
contained messages of activism. She has sung songs written by Joni Mitchell, as well as trying out more contemporary
material with additional musicians.
Judy Collins had a 23-year run with Elektra Records, which ended in 1984 when she made two albums for Gold Castle, followed
by another successful run with Columbia Records. This folk singer is one of the few women who can play the guitar with
such skill, so make sure that you check out all the dates of her tour, and get a ticket for you and your friends!
