For guitarist, the most
important piece of equipment is the instrument you tout. For Justin Hayward, that is a Gibson ES-335. He considers this red
beauty to be his "main axe," but he also uses a few other guitars including a 1955 Martin D-28, a six-string James Olson acoustic,
a black acoustic Guild, a Squier Stratocoaster, a Fender Telecaster, a blonde 12=string Gibson and a classic-looking, black
Gibson Les Paul. He has always been a guitar connoisseur, and continues to find the right guitar for each song he performs.
There's nothing better than hearing this talented musician wail on any of his guitars, and you won't want to miss hearing
him play live, in concert.
About the Artist
Hayward got his start in the music business when he was just
15-years-old. He performed at clubs and in dance halls, earning enough money to buy his first Gibson guitar and a Vox amplifier.
He formed a group while still in high school called All Things Bright, which opened for The Hollies and Brian Poole and the
Tremeloes. He signed a record deal with producer Lonnie Donegan when he was just 17, and began recording music for the label.
Soon after he answered an ad in Melody Maker and auditioned to be a guitarist in the band The Wilde Three. He then joined
The Moody Blues in the late 1960s and by the earl 1970s, the band earned mainstream success, becoming one of pop music's biggest-selling
acts. Hayward saw more success in the years to come both as a member of a band and as a solo artist. He continues to tour
and create new and exciting music that still speak to music lovers everywhere.
In recent years, Hayward has continued
to work on new and exciting projects including reprising his role in the stage tour of Jeff Wayne's Musical Version of The
War of the Worlds and touring with original The Moody Blues drummer Graeme Edge. He has also performed alongside Ian Anderson

Justin Hayward's love
for music began at an early age. By the age of five, he was already singing and making up his own songs. And when he inherited
his grandfather's collection of 78s, he knew he had found his life's calling. He vowed that he would own a guitar by the age
of 10, and by the time he was old enough to shave, he had already performed with several youth clubs and in pubs around his
hometown of Swindon, England. Although he had earned a reputation for being a great musician, it wasn't until he answered
an ad in "The Melody Maker" that he found his way into the limelight. He met and joined Marty Wilde and his wife Joyce in
their band The Wilde Three, and the group soon recorded two hit singles. Wilde taught the young musician about the power of
writing and performing his own music, which has stuck with the musician to this day. Soon, Hayward was joining another hit
band, The Moody Blues, and providing amazing songs for the up-and-coming group. The band became a sensation in the 1970s,
and Hayward's career soared. Since then, his solo career has taken off, and he continues to create new and exciting music.
Justin Hayward has become a classic rock icon in his 40 plus years of creating hit songs and performing
with top bands like The Moody Blues. And his signature sound and melodic voice have only gotten better over the years. Every
performance by this legendary musician is a memorable one, and you won't want to miss a single note.
