When Justin Moore found himself missing his mother's Southern home cooking after moving to Nashville to chase his musical dream, he was moved to pen the song, Small Town USA - a song paying homage to the simplicity and spirit of life in a small town. He knew he needed to record the song because it summed up his roots perfectly, capturing the man Moore had become. The song became a Top 15 hit and set Moore up as being one of 2009's break-out country music talents, cultivating attention from The Washington Post, Billboard and People.
Born and raised in Poyen, Arkansas, country singer Justin Moore grew up on old-school country. By the age of three, Moore was plucking a toy guitar and singing, I'm a Honky Tonk Man for his parents. And just three years later he was singing in public. He won a Poyen High School talent contest when he was eight and started performing solo to tracks at local festivals when he was in high school. A tape that Moore made for his parents sparked discussion about taking up music as a career. Moore became inspired to join his uncle's Southern rock band and journeyed to Nashville to learn how the music business worked. When he was only 17, his father played the homemade tape over the phone for a few people on Music Row, which helped pull in a management deal. He followed his calling and moved to Nashville in 2002. He eventually was discovered, and the rest is history!
Justin Moore's talents have landed him coveted spots on tours with Trace Adkins, Lynyrd Skynyrd and Hank Williams Jr. He has also opened for Kenny Chesney, Brooks & Dunn and ZZ Top.
