The Chiefs in the Playoffs
The Kansas City Chiefs are looking to make some serious noise in the AFC if they can
make it to the postseason this season. The Chiefs have a solid team that boasts a balances offensive attack and an opportunistic
and aggressive defense. The team went out and hired head coach Andy Reid, who had been dismissed after a long tenure and many
winning seasons with the Philadelphia Eagles, and the moves has worked wonders for a Chiefs team that posted one of the worst
records in the National Football League in 2013. The Chiefs have been a new team this season, and they started the year on
a 9-0 winning streak. Though the team stumbled a bit following that streak, they still look to be one of the best teams in
the AFC, and just the kind of balanced and disciplined group that wins championships.
The team has gotten solid production
out of another offseason acquisition, quarterback Alex Smith. The former number one overall pick was having a great 2012 season
in San Francisco last year before losing his starting job while injured. The Chiefs pounced on the chance to get Smith via
trade and have found themselves a reliable veteran quarterback that isn't going to make the kind of mistakes that have plagued
the Chiefs over the last few seasons. Smith is a stabilizing force under center, and while he won't be slinging the ball all
over the field any time soon, he doesn't have to with the makeup and style of this offense. The offense starts with running
back Jamaal Charles, who will be looking to gash opposing defenses in the postseason this year.
Kansas City Chiefs are amidst one of their best seasons in recently memory, and two big offseason arrivals have been an integral
factor in that success. The first is head coach Andy Reid, who has somehow worn out his welcome in Philadelphia despite regularly
leading his team to the postseason and even taking the Eagles to the Super Bowl one season. What was Philadelphia's loss has
been Kansas City's gain, though, as Reid has instantly turned this Chiefs team into a contender. The other offseason pickup,
quarterback Alex Smith, has also played a big role in the resurgence of this team. While Smith might not boast an elite arm,
he's a cerebral quarterback that can pick apart defenses and make smart plays. He doesn't have to throw the deep ball all
day long thanks to a strong running game, headlined by running back Jamaal Charles. Charles is one of the most dynamic runners
in the National Football League, and he's always a threat to go the distance any time he touches the ball. Equipped with a
balanced offense and a young defense has that been on a tear this season, the Chiefs could very well make a deep run in the
playoffs, potentially to the Super Bowl for a shot at the coveted Vince Lombardi Trophy.
you head to an NFL game, you're sure to become wrapped up in everything that comes with seeing the best of the best hit the
field in person. When it comes to the playoffs, though, every game means the world to every fan in attendance. The playoffs
are an intense time when every game means win or go home, and that has the players giving it everything they've got out on
the gridiron. Every snap results in a big play, every pass could spell triumph or disaster for your favorite team. If the
Chiefs are able to earn a home playoff game this season, they'll need their famed home crowd behind them. Arrowhead Stadium
is notorious for being one of the loudest stadium in the league.
