2014 Kansas City Chiefs Schedule

The Kansas City Chiefs are ready to take to the gridiron this season and do battle with some of the best teams in the National Football League, as they once again made the playoffs in 2013 but will be looking to take another step forward in 2014. While the team experienced a heart-breaking loss in the first round of the postseason, the Chiefs are primed for another big year in 2014, as they have one of the most balanced teams in the league and have playmakers who can do a little bit of everything on the gridiron. With the AFC West title in their sights, the Chiefs know that each and every home game is going to mean a lot to their chances.

One of the top games on the schedule, of course, is when the Chiefs take on the New England Patriots at home on Monday Night Football on Sept. 29, as the Pats are always one of the toughest teams in the AFC and you can count on Arrowhead to be absolutely rocking. Other big home games include when the Chiefs take on the Broncos on Nov. 30, the Raiders on Dec. 14 and the Chargers on Dec. 28, with many of the biggest home games of the season going down at the very end of the season.

More than just the home games, however, there are all kinds of great road matchups that you know you'll want to be a part of this season as well. A Sept. 14 matchup in Denver will certainly bring plenty of fanfare, as will an Oct. 5 game in San Francisco against the always tough 49ers. Another huge matchup will be when the Chiefs take on the Cardinals in Glendale on Dec. 7, bringing the Chiefs up against another talented team looking to get back into the playoffs. Put it all together and there are all kinds of opportunities for Chiefs fans this season as Kansas City looks to make their move in the AFC West once again.

Kansas City Chiefs Team Info

The Kansas City Chiefs are hoping to advance further into the postseason in 2014, and they'll be looking to some of their new rookies to contribute to the cause. The Chiefs used their first-round pick in the 2014 NFL Draft to select defense end Dee Ford with the 22nd overall selection in the draft, and this former Alabama player knows how to get after the quarterback. The club selected cornerback Philip Gaines with their second-round pick in an effort to shore up their secondary and in the third round the Chiefs landed one of the most dynamic players in the draft in De'Anthony Thomas, one of the most electric runners in this draft class.

Add Thomas into the mix with Jamaal Charles and a strong offense led by Alex Smith and the Chiefs look like a formidable team that definitely won't go quietly this season. Charles is noted as one of the most electric players in the entire NFL, and if you give him an inch of daylight he might just take it straight to the house – and to the highlight reels. With Head Coach Andy Reid bringing some creativity to the offense and a top-tier defense that can shut down even elite offenses, this is a team that has all kinds of potential in 2014.

Fan Experience

When you head to an NFL game, you're sure to become wrapped up by the experience, as this is a game that springs to a completely different level when you get a chance to see it up close and personal alongside all the rest of your fellow fans. Seeing a game live from your very own seat in the stadium is a whole different experience than watching the game in your living room or at a local bar. The fans in the stands are always rowdy and ready to cheer their hearts out for their favorite team. When you head to Arrowhead Stadium, you're entering one of the best stadiums in the country. The fans at Arrowhead have gained a reputation for being some of the loudest in the NFL, giving the Chiefs a great home field advantage that has fans pouring into the stands with enthusiasm every single time that Kansas City takes to the gridiron at home.

Kansas City Chiefs History

NFL tickets to see the Chiefs are always in demand, and don't expect that to change any time soon due to their rich history and steady stream of talented players. The Chiefs won the Super Bowl in 1969 and have had some great players come through their roster over the years, giving fans plenty of thrills in the process. They've had great players like Derrick Thomas, Marcus Allen, Joe Montana, Christian Okoye, Tony Gonzalez, Priest Holmes and many more, as this is a team that is known to have superstars all over the field from one year to the next. With one of the most complete teams they've ever had, the Kansas City Chiefs are looking to put together another amazing season that will energize the fan base in a very big way this season.

Kansas City Chiefs Trivia

Know that Priest Holmes rushed for more than 20 touchdowns in back-to-back seasons?

In one of the greatest stretches in running back history, Holmes rushed for 21 touchdowns in 2002 and 27 touchdowns in 2003, amassing more than 2,100 yards from scrimmage each season as well.
