KATSEYE is a six-member girl group based in Los Angeles, with members rooted in the Philippines, South Korea, Switzerland, and the United States, which is why they get tagged as a global girl group. The project came together through The Debut: Dream Academy, a 2023 reality competition series run as a joint venture between Hybe and Geffen Records. More than 120,000 hopefuls applied, 20 finalists spent a year training in Los Angeles under methods drawn from the Korean idol trainee system, and the winning six were named on November 18, 2023. The first EP, SIS (Soft Is Strong), arrived that August and put KATSEYE at number one on Billboard's Emerging Artists chart. From there the milestones stacked up. "Gnarly" (2025) gave them their first Billboard Hot 100 entry, the EP Beautiful Chaos opened at number four on the Billboard 200, "Gabriela" climbed into the Hot 100's top 40 and picked up a Grammy nomination, and the third EP, Wild (2026), became their first number one on the Billboard 200.

Live is where the hybrid identity pays off. KATSEYE pairs American pop songcraft with K-pop-caliber choreography, a blend member Daniela describes as making American pop music with the performance standards of K-pop training. The visual side is just as considered, built on Y2K staples like low-rise denim, crop tops, and archival pieces under creative director Humberto Leon. The stage resume grew quickly, from Wango Tango and Lollapalooza in Chicago to a Coachella set, a Lollapalooza Argentina performance for a crowd of roughly 100,000, and a first headlining concert tour, the Beautiful Chaos Tour, in 2025.
