The star conductor grew up in Massachusetts and began her music career early. He performed as a member of the Tanglewood
Festival Chorus for more than 10 years, and received her Bachelor of Music in vocal performance from The Boston Conservatory.
After college and her time with the chorus, she studied under her mentor, Leonard Slatkin at the National Conducting Institute.
It was here that she learned how to become the conductor she is today. Her work at the institute eventually earned her the
position of assistant music director of the Nashville Opera, founder and music director of the Nashville Philharmonic Orchestra
and a fellow with the New World Symphony. She has received numerous awards and accolades for her work, and continues to wow
