in 1948, Kenneth Clark Loggins is better known to his fans as simply "Kenny Loggins." During his early years, Kenny was one
half of a duo called Loggings and Messina, but he soon broke off on his own as a solo artist and go-to songwriter for other
singers. His popularity grew during the '70s and many of his songs have been featured in famous 1980s movie soundtracks. You've

After graduating high school in Everetts, Washington, Kenny formed a band called "Second Helping," and released
several singles during the late '60s via Viva Records. Several of his folk-pop tracks were featured on two of Greg Shaw's
albums:Highs in the Mid-Sixties, Volume 2and thePebbles, Volume 9CD. This was just the beginning of a long music career for
Loggins, which included a short gig as a guest guitar player for"The New Improved" Electric Prunesin 1969. From there, Loggins
penned songs for theNitty Gritty Dirt Band, which were included in theirUncle Charlie & His Dog Teddyalbum. Then in his
twenties, Kenny met Jim Messina, an independent record producer for Columbia Records. At the time, Loggins was still an aspiring
singer-songwriter, who had formed a new band called Gator Creek. Together, Loggins and Danny Messina recorded the track, "Danny's
Song," forMercury Records.

Loggins and Messina continued to record together and
released a debut album as a duo. The album, titled "Kenny Loggins with Jim Messina Sittin' In," featured aCaribbean-infused
track called "Vahevala" (or "Vahevella"),whichwas very popular across local college campuses. The duo continued to record
together for four more years, releasingfive more albums and numerouscoversof other artists' material. They sold 16 million
records and were the most successful duo of the early 1970s, releasing sevenalbums from 1971–1976, two of which went
