Kevin Fowler Background
Fowler was born and raised in Amarillo, Texas, and grew up listening to country music. Once he entered his teenage years,
Fowler also started to develop a fondness for rock music, and his combined love of rock and country is definitely reflected
in his fun and electrifying tunes. His passion for music started at an early age, as Fowler took up playing the piano when
he was just a young boy. All throughout his childhood, Fowler gravitated toward music, but it wasn't until he was 20 that
he decided to take a leap of faith and pursue music full time. He moved to Los Angeles and enrolled in the Guitar Institute
of Technology so that he could master the guitar and start writing his own songs.
After honing his guitar playing skills
for over a year, Fowler moved to Austin and joined the rock band, Dangerous Toys, in the 1990s. He didn't stay in Dangerous
Toys for long, however, as Fowler decided to leave and form his own Southern rock group, Thunderfoot. After years of rocking
out on stage wherever he performed, Fowler decided in 1998 that he would transition from rock music to Texas country music.
He and his new band practiced and gigged relentlessly, and with no record contract, Fowler decided to crank out his fun tunes
the old-fashioned way—on his own. Fowler's debut album, Beer, Bait & Ammo, was extraordinarily successful for a
self-released album, selling over 30,000 copies in Texas alone. From then on, Fowler continued to release fantastically catchy
Texas country music and eventually signed to Lyric Street Records, Disney Music Group, and later Average Joe's Entertainment.
