mockery, Kid Rock soldiered on. And when rap-metal finally got its day in the sun, Kid Rock was already miles ahead of the
new players. He had plenty of time to polishhis eccentric, overblown redneckimage. And, itwas Kid Rock'sDevil Without a Cause
album (1998) that cemented the deal, catapultinghim to fame. You can catch Kid Rock at venues like the Birds Nest Phoenix

Kid Rock Background
Bob "Kid Rock" Ritchie's roots lie in the small town of
Romeo, Michigan. Small-town life didn't exactly agree with him so he engrossed himself inmusic. From listening to rap music
and learning how to breakdance, his distractions eventually led him to trying his hand at performing at talent shows.Following
the trail blazed by the Beastie Boys on their Licensed to III effort, Kid Rock was influenced by their abilities to mesh rap
with hard rock. Kid Rock cut his initial set of demos back in 1988. Later on, he landed an opening spot at a Boogie Down Productions
show. His performance laid the groundwork for a record deal with Jive Records. Under that label, Kid Rock released Grits Sandwiches
for Breakfast. The debut effort arrived in 1990. He flirted with notoriety for a short stint when "Yodelin' in the Valley,"
was picked up by a New York college station. But,when all was said and done, Jive ended up dropping him from the label. Not
to be discouraged, Kid Rock relocated to Brooklyn and signed on with Continuum. The Polyfuze Method came out in 1993. The
album earned mixed reviews. A year later, the EP Fire It Up dropped.
Kid Rock went back to Detroit eventually and started
towork on his next release. His efforts culminated into Early Mornin' Stoned Pimp (1996). Around this time, he also established
a back-up band, Twisted Brown Trucker. Faithful fan and a regular at Kid Rock's concerts, rapper Joe C. was one of the initial
members to join the fold. Joe C. grabbed Kid Rock's attention back in 1994 small size, attributed to a disease, but also because
of his thorough understanding of the words to Rock's tunes.
Once bands like Rage Against the Machine, Korn and Limp
Bizkit became titans on the music scene, Atlantic Records made the decision to ink a deal with Kid Rock. When it first came
out in the late summer of 1998, Devil Without a Cause really didn't make any ripples. But with promotion and the help of MTV,
the track, "Bawitdaba," rocketed to the top. "Cowboy," came next and scored similar results. Suddenly, Kid Rock found himself
at the center of the music world, with a seven-times-platinum album in tow and a spot at 1999's Woodstock event. And, it only
took a decade of trying.
In the summer of 2000, he released The History of Rock, which was comprised of previous recordings,
remixes and original material. Throughout the 2000s, he released a string of albums, including Cocky in 2001 and his eponymous
album in 2003. Four years later, he came out with Rock n Roll Jesus, followed by Born Free in 2010. His latest effort is Rebel
Soul, which dropped in 2012.
