Fatin Dantzler was born in Philadelphia and began his career in the music business writing songs for Pebbles and Bell Bib Devoe, while his future wife Aja Graydon, was getting her start in Washington, D.C., as a solo act at the age of 15. Their careers crossed paths, and the two began writing songs together. Their business relationship turned romantic, and they eventually married and started a family. Because they need stable jobs to support their growing family, the two took some time off of their careers to raise their families. But after a disappointing time as an appliance salesman, Dantzler decided to go back to his first love-music. He and his wife began singing and performing together in the local scene and were spotted by singer Jill Scott when they were performing at the Black Lily club. She signed the pair to her label, Hidden Beach Recordings, and they released their first album, Surrender to Love, in 2003. They went on to release three more albums, and are still going strong.
