Kishi Bashi Background

Born as Kaoru Ishibashi in Seattle, Washington, Kishi Bashi had a knack for music at a young age. This passion for instruments led him to pursue education in classical music, hoping one day to bring his talent for classical instruments to the public. After honing his skills as a violinist, Kishi Bashi began to make a name for himself in the music world.

Ready to jumpstart his career as a classical violinist, Kishi Bashi decided to embark on a new music venture and created the New York synth rock group, Jupiter One. This American indie rock band cranked out fun pop songs with new wave influences. They released several albums since their inception, and have met with much critical acclaim over the years.

Even though Jupiter One was like Kishi Bashi's beloved child, he wanted to explore new career paths. Popular artists started to recognize his talent and invited him on international tours with them. Regina Spektor, Sondre Lerche, and of Montreal all added Kishi Bashi to their touring lineup, and they were glad they did.

His fame in the music world continued to grow, as his skills as a violinist impressed everyone he met, and soon he embarked on a solo career. It was during this time that K Ishibashi adopted the pseudonym Kishi Bashi, opening shows for major musical artists. He eventually released his first full-length debut album, titled 151a, in 2012. Since then, Kishi Bashi has turned into a musical force that can't be stopped. He continues to create new and unique music and tours around the world, wowing international audiences with his spectacular musical talent.

His albums teem with his unique musical talents, providing one of the most interesting sounds you've ever heard. His first full-length album, 151a, was partially funded by Joyful Noise records and partially funded with a Kickstarter campaign. Some of his albums, such as 7 Box Set, include fun and pop-infused covers of popular songs, such as covers of the Talking Heads, ELO, and Beirut.

His band Jupiter One also released several albums, ending up with two popular singles: "Countdown/Wrong Line/Turn Up the Radio" and "Flaming Arrow". Jupiter One accumulated avid fans during their short time together, and they expect to reunite in the near future to produce more fun and futuristic music.
