Born in a humble suburb of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Kristin Chenoweth made the most of what she had. She took advantage of every opportunity that came her way, singing in churches and even getting chosen to sing for the Southern Baptist Convention's national conference when she was only 12. She continued performing in school plays and other beauty pageants, even winning Miss Oklahoma City University and becoming second runner-up for Miss Oklahoma. She earned a degree in musical theatre and was awarded a full scholarship to Philadelphia's Academy of Vocal Arts. But before she could start at the Academy, she auditioned for an off-Broadway show and got the part. After getting her first role as Arabella Rittenhouse in Animal Crackers, she went on to land bigger and bigger roles, and was soon winning Tony Awards for her Broadway performances. And while she was solidifying her musical theater career, she was also landing roles on television and in movies, and released her first solo album "Let Yourself Go" in 2001. She has recorded three other albums that have received positive reviews, and continues to win awards for her theater and television performances. She is also well-known for her extremely peppy and artful performance of Glinda the Good Witch in the Broadway show Wicked!
