Born Samuel William Christopher Watson, Krizz Kaliko began his career in the late 90s when he began working with a local producer named IcyRocKraven. While he was working on his rapping skills with IcyRoc, another local rapper named Tech N9ne came on the scene. Tech N9ne was working on a song called "Who You Came to See" and was amazed when Krizz offered some sound advice for improving the hook on the song. That began a longtime working relationship that helped Krizz get signed to Tech's label, Strange Music. Since that time, Krizz has worked on several of Tech's albums, rapping alongside Tech or simply adding background vocals. Krizz also provided support for other labelmates including Kutt Calhoun, Skatterman & Snug Brim and Prozak. It took almost ten years, but Krizz Kaliko finally released his first solo album, Vitiligo, in November of 2008. The album was a success, peaking at No. 19 on the Top Independent Albums and No. 167 on the Billboard 200. Releasing his first album set the ball rolling for the rapper, and he has since completed three more albums and a new EP, entitled Neh'mind, that have garnered much success and gained the rapper a loyal following.
