La Arrolladora Banda El Limon Background

In the state of Sinaloa, there is a village called Limon, situated 80 kilometers from Mazatlan. La Arrolladora Banda El Limon borrowed part of its name from their hometown. Trailblazer and band director, Rene Camacho, lends his unique rancho style to the Sinaloa band that has made it one of the most recognized bands on the planet. The group signed onto Disa LLC in 2002. Two years later they became a part of Disa Latin Mexico, who quickly issued "La Arrolladora En Vivo" and "Huele a Peligro." The group garnered three gold-certified albums in 2006 when their records topped sales in Mexico and the U.S. A year later, they issued a live album, Para ti Exclusivo Desde Arandas, Jal. En Vivo. The albums includes hit tunes like: "La suata," "Huele a peligro," "En los puritos huesos," "Cheque en blanco" and more. In the fall of 2007, they put out the album, Y Que Quede Claro. The album highlighted over a dozen of La Arrolladora Banda El Limon's trademark sound comprised of cumbia, ranchero ballad and corrido. Once the track, "Sobre mis pies" hit the airwaves, it instantly skyrocketed to the peak of the charts as well as placing them at the top of their genre. It was the very first occasion that the radio program honored a regional Mexican group. Additionally, La Arrolladora Banda El Limon was also presented with the Satellite Award for Artistic Merit by the Mexican President. The group continued to score top rankings on the charts in 2008 through the help of their track, "Primer tiempo." They also earned the Best Band award on Premios Billboard 2008. The next year brought the group more success when they were presented with nominations for significant awards in Latin music - Premio Lo Nuestro and Award OYE! 2009.
