La Cage Aux Folles
- better known to English-speakers as "The Birdcage" - is a flamboyant gay nightclub owned by a gay couple, Georges and Albin,
who are just as colorful. But Georges has a son who is about to get married. His fiancee's parents are staunchly conservative,

Aux Folles has a long history on the stage. It first came to the theater in 1973 as a comedic play, was adapted in a French
film in 1978, and then was adapted for American audience in 1996 in a film starring Robin Williams and Nathan Lane. This hit
version of the original play is a musical that will keep audiences rolling in the aisles.
Moines Civic Center is a much-visited venue with room for several thousand people, and has been known as one of the largest
venues in all of Iowa. It opened in 1978 and still hosts theatrical productions of all sorts.
