La Madness formed almost organically out of singer and guitarist Kurt Valland's intense desire to start a group. The problem for Valland is that he had no one to play with. Gathering experience about the music business and himself while living in Texas and Southern California, the musician came home to Minneapolis to drum up some talent to help him round out the band he had already formed in his head. As his desire grew, so did the opportunities. And all of the pieces began to fall together for this new band to take shape. He became neighbors with Berklee Music grad Riggs Kessler who is now the lead guitarist for La Madness, he found heavy-handed percussionist Aaron Willey through a mutual friend, and with help from newfound talent from bass guitarist Seth Levine, La Madness was born. After only three rehearsals, the band found themselves at the famed Winterland Studios putting together their first single "She's a Devil." There was no mistaking the magic that emanated from the new single, and within a few weeks, the band was opening for national acts at the Varsity Theatre and landing rotational gigs at Cause and Mayslacks. Now the band is working on their first full-length album, Chances Are, which will take them to new heights of stardom and fan-demonium. The band has already gained fans across the globe, and they have their whole careers ahead of them.
