La Salle Explorers Schedule

Coming off of a 2012-2013 season in which the Explorers made an improbable run to the Sweet Sixteen, the 2013-2014 season has been a bit of a disappointment for LaSalle. The Explorers currently sit at ninth in the A-10 with a 4-7 conference record and an equally disappointing 12-13 overall record. The season has not been without its highlights though as LaSalle beat crosstown rivals Temple and came within a bucket of upsetting then thirteenth ranked St. Louis. The Explorers could still finish the season on a high note, and possibly even pull off another miraculous run in the A-10 Tournament to earn an NCAA Tournament bid.

On Wednesday, February 26th St. Bonaventure comes to Tom Gola Arena in a game that is definitely winnable for the Explorers. March 6th is Senior Night for LaSalle and every Explorers fan in Philly will want to come pay tribute to senior guard Tyrone Garland who was such an important factor in last year's Sweet Sixteen run as well as fellow senior guard Tyreek Duren who leads the team in scoring and assists.

The Experience

There are plenty of major college sports out there these days, but few can even hold a candle to the experiment of big-time NCAA basketball. Come out to the stands and you'll see what all the buzz is about, as you'll be treated to an unbelievable sporting event filled with thousands of intense fans that know a thing or two about showing their support. Some things don't transfer through that fancy TV, making it always a great idea to head out to the stands so you can experience the game the way it was meant to be seen. As the Explorers look to make it back to theNCAA Tournament in another very tough season in the A-10 standings, games are sure to be loaded with rim-rocking excitement that you just can't conjure up anywhere else. College basketball is one of those sports that you have to see for yourself if you want to truly understand what all the excitement is about, as this is one of those sporting events that you just need to be surrounded by to see it get taken to the next level. From road games and anticipated home matchups, there is nothing quite like being there so you can see all the action for yourself.

The Team

Against teams like Dayton, VCU, St. Joseph's and many more in the A-10, the Explorers get to go up against some of the powerhouses of the conferences, though the Explorers also have plenty of talented players that know how to make it hard on the other elite teams looking to do the same. Around campus, Explorers home games are always a big deal for students as well as for the supportive neighboring community, which is why you can always count on the stands having a great atmosphere absolutely packed to the brim with excitement that you can't find anywhere else. With players that can play at both ends of the floor and some hot shooters who can light up the scoreboard and change the dynamic of a big game in a real hurry, this is a team that you won't want to sleep on this season as the Explorers look to do their thing and make a move up the conference standings.

La Salle Explorers Trivia

Did you know that the Explorers won it all back in 1954?

The Explorers were not to be trifled with in the mid-1950s, as they ran the table and won it all in '54 thanks to some big-time playmakers. They nearly did it again in 1955, finishing as the runner up and giving their fans some big-time thrills in the process. The Explorers since then have had some memorable seasons as well, including another trip to the Tournament as recent as 2012-2013.

La Salle Explorers History

In the competitive A-10, the Explorers more than hold their own from year to year, and they always seem to have a few new recruits that know a thing or two about winning on the hardwood. With a dominant program in the 1950s and plenty of top-tier teams since then, the Explorers have become a major icon of the local community for a reason, which is why it's never a bad idea to keep an eye on the schedule so you can make sure that you join in the heart-pounding excitement first-hand. The Explorers would love nothing more than to return to the glory of old, making them a team to watch in the A-10 as the look to pile up the wins once again this season.
