Brad Delson, Rob Bourbon and Mike Shinoda were three high school friends who, after graduation, began to take their passion
for music to a more serious level. The band sought out other members to form their band, Xero, which included Dave "Phoenix"
Farrell, Joe Hahn and Mark Wakefield. They also hired vocalist, Chester Bennington, and coined themselves Hybrid Theory after
his addition. The name came from their idea of being a hybrid rock and rap band, however, they were forced to change their
name due to a trademark conflict with a band called, Hybrid. Some other name choices, included Probing Lagers, Ten PM Stocker,
Clear and Platinum Lotus Foundation. Eventually, upon the suggestion of Bennington, they came to the consensus of being called
Lincoln Park, and changed it to Linkin Park because the original domain, lincolnpark.com, cost more than they could afford.
The album, Hybrid Theory, was released in 2000, and became the top-selling album in the U.S. and New Zealand in 2001. Hit
singles included Crawling, One Step Closer, Papercut, Points of Authority and In the End. Reanimation, a remix of their Hybrid
Theory album, was issued in 2002, and in 2003, Meteora debuted at No. 1 in the U.S. and the UK and placed at No. 2 in Australia.
Somewhere I Belong, Faint, Breaking the Habit and Number were just a few hit singles to come out of that album. A collaboration
with rapper Jay-Z culminated into the Collision Course album, which also ranked No. 1 in the U.S. Linkin Park has released
a score of other albums that have turned out to be just as successful. To learn more about Linkin Park's upcoming concert
