Lisa Lisa (born Lisa Velez) jumpstarted a monstrous career in the club/dance music industry in the mid-'80s, joining up with Cult Jam (comprised of Mike Hughes and Alex "Spanador" Moseley) and, at times, the funk group Full Force, to come screeching onto dancefloors and nightclubs across the country, pumping out freestyle jams like crazy. Lisa Lisa and Cult Jam disbanded after 1991's Straight Outta Hell's Kitchen was released, but Lisa Lisa has been a solo icon in the music industry ever since.
