After some time in a psychiatric hospital in Massachusetts, Livingston Taylor left for Boston with a new found appreciation for music as therapy. He began to perform in various clubs and coffeehouses in the Boston area in the late 1960s. He was signed to Capricorn Records in 1970. His self-titled debut album was released that same year and was followed shortly after by 1971's "Liv". After a third album with Capricorn, Taylor decided to release his next album with the label Epic in 1978.
