Local H formed in Zion, Illinois between vocalist and guitarist Scott Lucas and drummer Joe Daniels. They started playing together in high school, and released their debut album, Ham Fisted, to cold reviews in 1995. But the following year they put out As Good As Dead, which scored a radio hit in "Bound for the Floor" that earned them widespread recognition.
Daniels eventually left the band, and was replaced by Brian St. Clair. Together, he and Lucas soldiered on, putting out several records. Although they failed to attract major recognition for their efforts, critics and dedicated fans continued to sing their praises.
