Fans in the state of Texas take their football seriously, especially their college football. Two schools that elicit passion
from fans is the University of Texas and Texas A&M. The two face off every year in a game named the Lone Star Showdown. The
2010 Lone Star Showdown featured Texas A&M topping Texas, and the 2011 Lone Star Showdown is sure to bring out top competition
from both teams.
The football rivalry between the University of Texas Longhorns and the Texas A&M Aggies goes back decades. In 2004, it
became known as the Lone Star Showdown, but the Lone Star Showdown extends beyond the world of NCAA football. The winner of the Lone Star Showdown is actually
the school that has won the most matchups in all of the sports, not just football.
Both the Longhorns and the Aggies have top-notch venues to host the Lone Star Showdown. The Longhorns play their home games
at the
Darrell K. Royal - Texas Memorial Stadium, which has been the home of the Longhorns since the 1920s. The Aggies play at
Kyle Field, which has also been
their home since the 1920s.
If you are familiar with Texas college football, you have inevitably heard about the heated rivalry between the Texas Longhorns
and the Texas A&M Aggies. Hearing about the game, though, hardly compares to actually seeing it live. Be there to cheer on
your team this season by booking sports tickets
to the Lone Star Showdown.
