An eccentric band led by an eccentric frontman, Mr. Lordi, the group was formed in 1996. Mr. Lordi loved monsters and pyrotechnics at the shows he went to, and he planned on his band having plenty of both. They dressed as monsters during their elaborate concerts, they released a hit single called “Would You Love a Monsterman?” and their second album was called The Monsterican Dream. If you love monsters, you’ve found your band.
Lordi has done exceptionally well for itself in its native Finland and throughout Scandanavia, where metal ranks high on the charts. But in 2006, they earned the respect of all of Europe by earning more points in the annual Eurovision contest than any band in history! Now, the band is coming to America.
