When just in junior high, Leighton Antelman and Steve McGraw began writing music and booking shows. Originally coined Rolo 15 and then Nextabest, the band launched while the pair were going to Greenfield Jr. High in Arizona. The indie rock band eventually went on to release several albums as a five-piece band. Some of the albums included: The December; It's One More and I'm Free; Illuminate; and a tour only EP entitled Hotel Sessions. Lydia took a hiatus in 2010 but returned in 2011 with a new song, Dragging Your Feet in the Mud. They released a fresh album, Paint it Golden, in October 2011. A cover of Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas also premiered in December 2011. On a 2012 spring/summer tour, Lydia supported The Maine. They were included along with the Arkells and The Maine on a cover of With A Little Help From My Friends, a Beatles original. The tune was released in the spring of 2012 on Spotify, featuring two live tracks on The Pioneer North American Tour Live EP of The Maine.
