The band consists of two brothers, Jared and Mike Bell, who formed the group in 2001. Mike Bell came up with the band name while still in college. They studied the limbic system in Psychology 101, and the phrase caught his attention. In 2005, they released their first EP, Carved By Glacier, and in 2007 followed it up with an LP, Love Your Abuser.
The band has drawn numerous comparisons to Four Tet, Prefuse 73 and Tortoise. Their peaceful instrumentals lend themselves to introspection, and will delight anyone who appreciates electronic music and more calming folk rock.
