And in 2010, he developed the VS. Redux EP. MackleMore drew on his experience with substance abuse to generate the song, Otherside. Macklemore and longtime friend and collaborator Ryan Lewis released The Heist in 2012, which includes previously released singles: Can't Hold Us, Wing$ My Oh My, and Make the Money. Can't Hold Us was used in a UK and Ireland Miller beer advertisement in June 2012, adding to his brand recognition in Europe. The Heist, climbed to No. 1 on U.S. iTunes albums charts within just hours of its release. It also earned a spot on the U.S. Billboard 200 at No. 2 October 27, 2012, and sold over 78,000 copies!
MackleMore has performed at Seattle's Bumbershoot in 2008, 2009 and 2011.
